WASHINGTON — Three Things to Know:

  • Locally dense fog Wednesday morning
  • Rain develops Thursday night into Friday
  • More weekend rain chances

Tonight: Mostly cloudy and not as cold. Lows: 38 – 44. Winds: Light.
Wednesday: Morning patchy fog then mostly cloudy. Very mild. A few stray p.m. showers. Highs: 55 – 64. Winds: SSW 5 – 10.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy. Lows: 37 – 45. Winds: SW 5.
Thursday: Partly to mostly cloudy. Showers developing late. Highs: 53 – 60. Winds: E 5 – 10.

Fog will develop overnight and persist through the Wednesday morning commute – though it won’t be nearly as dense as what we saw Tuesday morning! After fog clears Wednesday morning, clouds will stick with us throughout the day. Despite the clouds, temperatures will still make it back into the mid 50s to low 60s. A few showers move through Wednesday afternoon and evening, but a better chance for rain develops late Thursday.

Most of Thursday will be cloudy and cool thanks an easterly wind, but dry, before showers develop throughout the afternoon and evening. They will be fairly scattered and the evening will be far from a washout. Overnight into Friday morning, heavier and steadier rain will develop and stick around for the Friday morning commute. Skies look to clear by late morning and we should salvage a decent Friday with temperatures back in the mid 50s.

Saturday will be the pick day of the weekend with partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures in the low to mid 50s. By Sunday, a cold front will have moved through the region ushering in colder temperatures. There is also a storm system nearby that, right now, looks to bring mainly rain. We are monitoring the potential for the rain to end as snow depending on the track of a coastal storm, but the likelihood of that still seems fairly low at this point. Check back in over the next several days as we fine tune the forecast!
