WASHINGTON — Three Things to Know:

  • Still cold and mostly cloudy Wednesday

Forecast: 

Tuesday:  Becoming mostly cloudy, windy and colder with a stray flurry. Highs 40 – 45. Winds: NW 10-20. 
Tuesday Night:  Clear to partly cloudy, cold. Lows: 20s. Winds: NW 10. 
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy & still cold. Highs 39 – 44. Winds: SE 10 

Winds will gust over 25 mph Tuesday keeping wind chills in the 20s and 30s all day. St. Patrick’s Day will feel more like a January day. Much colder air sweeps in for St. Patrick’s Day. Morning temperatures will drop below freezing, and highs will only top out in the upper 30s to low 40s. By Wednesday morning, winds subside, and actual temperatures dip into the 20s. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy and still cold with highs in the low 40s.

 Temperatures gradually rebound closer to normal late in the week. The 50s return Thursday with the 60s back Friday and Saturday. A few showers are possible Friday night but at this writing they should not impact your plans.
