Weather Impact Alert: Strong wind gusts between 40 – 60 mph move into the region Monday

WASHINGTON — Strong to dangerous wind gusts are expected to move through the region on Monday as an arctic front rushes in. 

Wind Advisories have been issued across parts of the DMV for gusts between 40-50 mph, and High Wind Warnings are in effect for Grant, Mineral counties in West Virginia, and Allegany County in Maryland, where gusts are expected to climb above 60 mph. 

The winds will begin in the mountains first overnight Sunday into early Monday. The strong gusts will reach the Metro by midday Monday.
