Roma continues to closely monitor the pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee, one of the hottest names to bolster the Giallorossi’s attack in the winter transfer window.

Although Trigoria has shown no signs of progress in the negotiations, the Dutch striker remains Gasperini’s preferred option to complete his attacking lineup.

Negotiations with Manchester United, who have yet to make a final decision, are ongoing informally.

However, competition from the Premier League is intensifying, with West Ham leading the way and Brighton poised to enter the fray for the former Bologna and Bayern Munich player.

Aware of the difficulties posed by English interest, La Repubblica reports, Roma is also evaluating alternative options.

These include Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto and Midtjylland’s Franculino, whose contract is valued at a staggering €45 million.

Despite this, interest in Zirkzee remains strong, also because the player has expressed a desire to return to Serie A, a league he knows well and where he could find consistency ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
