What Happened with Sarah Ferguson & Princess Beatrice’s Credit Cards?

As rumors swirl about Sarah Ferguson’s current spending habits, some people claim that she’s always depended on others to bankroll her lifestyle.

In an updated version of royal author Andrew Lownie’s book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, he alleged that Fergie has often relied on her eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, for financial help, even reportedly using her credit cards when money was tight.

This reportedly left Beatrice and her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, feeling deeply “embarrassed” by some of their mother’s actions behind closed doors. The book also alleged that, on occasion, staff members had to pay for certain expenses themselves due to Fergie’s financial difficulties. It was further alleged that the former Duchess of York “rarely paid for anything.”

“The assistant and other staff members had problems getting paid and often had to buy things using their own credit cards,” Lownie wrote. “Sarah herself drew on Beatrice’s credit card constantly and paid one psychic in cigarettes.”

At the time of writing, Fergie has reportedly gone into hiding as renewed attention falls on her and ex-Prince Andrew’s past connection with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Sources suggest she has been coping by indulging in retail therapy, a habit that could worsen her financial situation.

“The last thing she should be doing right now is pouring money down the drain, but she still feels entitled to the high life. Her excuse is that she’s in a crisis and she needs this pampering. That’s for her mental health,” an insider told RadarOnline in mid-May 2026. “That means bottle after bottle of expensive champagne for her and whoever she can rope in to join her. And when she’s not knocking back drinks, she’s at the spa getting massages, body wraps and facials. She’s spending money like there’s no tomorrow.”

Fergie’s excessive spending has also reportedly left her credit cards maxed out. According to Heat World, Eugenie and Beatrice are increasingly worried that they might be forced to help pay off their mother’s debts.

“Andrew isn’t going to hand over a dime to cover her bills so it’s all going on her credit cards which are already maxed out,” the source explained. “It’s so frustrating for her girls because they could be the ones that have to bail her out.”

Eugenie and Beatrice have reportedly been pleading with Fergie to face reality and “adjust her life accordingly,” but she has refused to listen. “She’s in total denial mode,” the insider claimed. “More than anything else, Sarah sees no reason why she should have to rein it in.”
