Following a high temperature of 94 in DC, storms passed through the region late Monday. The storms helped set up a beautiful sunset, thanks to the higher-level clouds they left behind.
In DC, it was also the last sunset to occur at or beyond 8 p.m. this summer. We’ll have to wait until May for the next one of those.
It seemed like a proper send-off.

Before the sunset, some cool storm shots were also shared with us. They included shelf clouds along the leading outflow winds from storms and rainbows.
